Girlene Coughlin, Registered Dietitian (RD)
Girlene Coughlin, Registered Dietitian (RD) Girlene earned her bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Rutgers University and completed her 1200 hours of supervised practice in the Dietetic Internship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – now part of Rutgers University. Her training during her bachelor’s degree course and her dietetic internship prepared her to recommend medical nutrition therapy upon analysis of patients’ medical conditions, laboratory results, patients’ food preferences and general backgrounds.
Girlene is committed to helping patients lose weight while still enjoying food and helping people with diabetes manage their condition with ease. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the New Jersey Dietetic Association, and a member of several dietetic practice groups within the Academy, such as the Diabetes Care Education, Weight Management, Dietitians in Integrative and Functional Medicine, Latinos and Hispanics in Dietetics and Nutrition, and the Sports, Cardiovascular and Wellness Nutrition group.
She is originally from Sao Paulo, Brasil, and she speaks three languages: English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Fun facts about Girlene: she loves volleyball (playing and watching), the beach, going to the gym in the winter, trying out foods from other countries and cultures, going to music concerts and watching theater plays.
Christine Pipchick, PA (Physician Assistant)
Christine Pipchick received her undergraduate degree from College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA in Psychology/Spanish. She received her M.S. in the Physician Assistant Program at UMDNJ (University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey). She has also had previous experience working as an EMT and for various not-for-profit organizations, including The Glaucoma Foundation. Prior to working for Moreno Medical Associates, Christine worked for New York Presbyterian in the Hospitalist section of the Division of General Medicine.
Hector E Rios
Fitness specialist/ Massage therapist
Hector E Rios has over 12 years of experience in fitness and massage therapy. Hector has been mentored by a well experienced sports therapist and is certified in the state of New Jersey. He has been a competitive athlete in many different sports,including competitive bodybuilding.Hector has also been mentored by a former competitive athlete and coach with over 40 years of experience in nutrition and physical fitness.
Hector has coached financial executives, NBA athletes, Magazine editors and TV personalities. He strives to make a real change in societal obesity. Hector has been featured in Time-Out Mag & BeautyNYCnews.com. He has many recommendations and referrals on websites like Yelp.com.
He believes in three key components when approaching his clients; Transformation, Empowerment and Simplicity. By using this three key concepts he has been able to help many, to not only make a change physically but also to view themselves in a new and constructive way. Hector strongly believes that, “taking care of your health is NOT a luxury but its a necessity”.
