Medications

Although everyone is hopeful for a fast and easy way to lose weight, nothing has been shown to replace, calorie-controlled diet along with an increase physical activity, and behavior modification. However, medications may be considered if weight-loss levels are still unacceptable or if medical problems are not adequately controlled.
Currently there are several drugs that are approved by the FDA for weight-loss:

  • Orlistat
  • Phentermine
  • Phentermine-popiramate ER (Qsymia)
  • Locarserin HCL (Belviq)

Dr. Borghini will evaluate each patient individual and medications recommendations will be made accordingly.
